Uganda school to get new building
East African Gospel Academy is located in Kampala, Uganda. It was found in 2015 following the fundamental music lessons that were conducted in the world music mission conference 2016. There was a desperate need and hunger for a continuous program that natures musicians in Uganda.
It had always been a dream of East African Gospel for such a time to come where musicians are developed skillfully and in their spiritual lives and with the coming of World Music Mission 2015 it was an answered prayer.
Mr Kurt Coble co founder World Music Mission and Founder Imagine Music School together with Samson began to work on having this school and in August 2015 the school began.
Through the prayers and with the generous support of our donors, the school has made evident impact in the lives of musicians in Uganda. The school has got music instruments, raised teachers and well cultured administrative system. Like any other institution that is born of God, the school has passed through various tests and challenges but has no lost focus.
The school has come a long way but still needs support in some key areas to ensure that the school continues on the path towards a successful and sustainable future.
### The Challenge
* October 2016 the school had 72 registered students but with the breaking of the building it has really affected the student classes .There is also no designated space to keep these equipments safe or for the students to conduct their lessons without disturbance.
* The lack of safe building for classes result in students missing school for up to a week every month, so they fall behind in their lessons.
* Throughout the project’s development, we have continuously invested a lot that includes, internet, well being of teacher and rent. A t this point we aim to buid sustainable projects that help support the school.
### Our approach
With the sustained support from our donors and fundraisers, we can continue to change lives at Academy:
* A purpose-school building, a safe space to learn and engaging reading material for all music students.
* Ensure the financial challenges school face are understood and addressed by through strategic settting of sustainable projects.
* Empower students to take responsibility for school development and become actively involved in their education through meetings, training and outreach programmes – use various means of communication.
We urgently need a partner to support this school. To find out more, please email Sonja on admin@imaginemusicschools.com
